Seriously, in my informed opinion Cloverfield was a thousand times more accomplished & entertaining than the student film ludicrously called The Blair Witch Project; in fact, it should be retitled "How I Spent My Summer Film Internship" or "Camping Out With Scary Friends". Granted, BWP was innovative, but it also had very cheesy acting and dialog and looked abysmally cheap.
IN regard to "FX", as I've stated clearly many times before, special effects which serve a well constructed plot don't detract; in fact, well done FX enhance the suspension of disbelief. No offense tin, but try to get over it before your blood boils and you explode! (;^>) We just see this film differently.
