For D-Day/Normandy invasion check out episod 2 'Day of Days'

For the push into Germany look at episodes 8 'The Last Patrol'
9 'Why We Fight'
10 '10-Points'

BTW, not WW2 related but if you have not seen 'Generation Kill' I highly recommend it. Based on a first hand account (by "Reporter") of a Marine Recon unit in the run up to and early aftermath of the second Iraq war, only seven episodes, it's tight and well made.

Very good stuff for the most part.
