I've attended a couple of photo exhibitions recently where digital cameras were been used + I've developed the conclusion that digital definition has become so good that only medium format (film) cameras have an edge over digital; and maybe not for much longer
As for digital transfers from film to hard drive, there are so many software tools available for sound + vision that almost anything can be done post-production
Blu Ray looks like it is fulfilling its promise as a DVD replacement format
