I mean SMOKING. Seeing a character smoking a cigarette used to be so commonplace that it was scarcely noticed. Everybody notices it on "MAD MEN."

I'm retired now but at my last job we had a manager who got suspended because he had a brain fart and started to light up a cigarette inside the company office. He put it out after just a few seconds but the damage had been done. I cost him three days without pay. Yes, smoking indoors at a job site/office is illegal in my state and against company regs but, jeez, they sure over-reacted. I am a non-smoker and hate the smell of tobacco but I think no one was hurt in this case and the embarrassment of what he did should have been sufficient punishment. The boss apparently has a zero-tolerance policy.
