Tinear's thread below about the late Edward Woodward has set me thinking about actors who seem to able to do well in different - particularly foreign - accents.
As a Brit, I've been very impressed by Gwyneth Paltrow in, say, Possession and Renée Zellweger in Bridget Jones. 'Our' Damian Lewis seems convincingly American in 'Life' on TV - but what would I know?!
And, of course, Brits like Peggy Ashcroft and her classically trained ilk have done a wide range of British accents in their time. Helen Mirren, too, more recently.
Any others come to mind?
