Up In The Air (contains spoilers)

Clooney plays a hired gun for corporate downsizing who travels endlessly and has a zipless fuck of a lifestyle, being the rolling stone that gathers no moss... until he does.
As the world rolls on and he is caught in the conundrum of his own life, he finds something in both a relationship and a young assistant who manages to put him on the spot.
This is a film with AND without happy endings and there is not a happy slappy scene at the end where everyone congratulates each other.
It is altogether better than that.
Clooney has become the Cary Grant of this generation.
The film is scripted with brevity and wit and is a joy to watch.
I have seen reviews already putting it on the Oscar shortlist.
Maybe so.
It is well worth seeing and for those who may be (smug) middle aged men comfortable in their own cocoon, it is worrying accurate.
I know it got me more than once.
