Philippe Lioret has made perhaps the most talked about film of last year with it being shown at both the French and European parliaments because of the seriousness of its content.
It deals with the plight of refugees arriving in Calais attempting to cross illegally into Britain.
Whilst the French authorities tend to leave them alone it is an offence to offer ANY aid to them, in fact the director commented that although there were real refugees within 100 metres of filming, to have paid them for it would have exposed the producer to a 5 year prison sentence.
I don't want to offer up any spoilers, but you will be (I hope) horrified by the lengths people go to to get across the Channel.
This is an understated and powerful film and I highly recommend it to everyone.
