Rourke's character study transcends acting. If it weren't Rourke critics might have raved for discovering a new force in acting.
Strong R rating for physical exposure; reminded me of "Midnight Cowboy" - an X in the seventies.
I'm elated such filmaking work is still possible. European quality comes Stateside.
