I'm pretty sure that Fritz Lang would not have approved of the Alloy orchestra creating sound effects and modernist interpretations of his seminal work. A better choice would've been the Mont Alto Orchestra in lieu of full orchestral accompaniment or a recording of the recent reconstruction's Berlin premier score. While the Alloy orchestra may be popular in some circles their "music" is definitely an acquired taste that many never acquire; for that reason it is greatly overhyped in the promotional ad. I guise it was cheaper to hire three noise makers than a real orchestra or chamber group of any merit. If shown in my area I hope that the Metropolis restoration receives better treatment with a properly recorded orchestral score during it's brief theatrical run; otherwise, I'll wait for the BD release.
