I saw it at a matinee to scope it out as my kids want to see it. I thought it was ok but my problem is the mixture of genres. Comic book movies should not be graphically brutal in a realistic way. The movie was not a political statement nor social commentary. It had some cheesy special effects especially at the end. But it had some extremely awful deaths in the middle perpetrated both by the "bad guys" and the "good guys" with the "good guys" including an 11 year old girl delighting in a graphic, brutal torture. I have a problem with that. The overall story is just fine but it didn't have to be so graphic and creepy in the ways its was.A similar movie in ways is Darkman which had sadistic parts but made them surreal in line with the genre. This was more of a cross between a teen fantasy movie and Kill Bill revenge brutal fantasy.
Btw, it is not appropriate for kids to see this movie.
