"1612" is the most expensive-looking Soviet film I've ever seen--- think epic-era Hollywood--- but unfortunately, it has a ridiculous screenplay, surely the worst lead female performance in modern Russian (or any) film, and a lead actor so tepid one wishes that any of the far better three supporting males had prevailed.
