Lesson: Don't go camping with the ball & chain.
Dafoe and Gainsborough lose a small child and Charlotte goes to guilt city and develops what Willem (a therapist) considers irrational fears. He tries to treat her by isolating her fears which leads them to their cabin in the dense woods somewhere in Washington state.
After a breakthrough is made on Charlotte's fears things seem fine for a few minutes before other craziness sets in for both of them. The whole shebang goes down the tubes and after 1:48 you feel disoriented, queasy, and unfulfilled.
This film operates on a lot of dream-like levels with its imagery and feelings. It's a dream you've had but never want to go back to.
