director making stranger films than S. Korea's, Bong Joon-ho?
A young married man struggling to gain a professorship and suffering through the pregnancy of his demanding and exasperating wife constantly is further disturbed by the continual barking of a neighbor's dog. Finally, he takes action, opening to him a world populated by an astonishing group of Bong's characters. Though his style is very far from that of David Lynch, the exposing of society's underbelly, the illumination of the strange side of seemingly "normal" people, is similar.
