"The Last Voyage"
A little corny, but Director Stone actually trashed and partially sank the venerable old luxury liner Ile de France to make the film before she was scrapped in the 50s. No sets. The flooding scenes are staged but really on the ship. Its all very realistic. Helluva one-take movie! Pretty good B-movie cast too: Robt Stack, Edmund O'Brien, Dorothy Malone, Geo. Sands. That ship had a great WWII record history, was the rescuer in the Andrea Doria tragedy...and was loaded with art deco stuff that would be worth millions today. Cut up to make Honda bikes. What an ignominious end! I haven't seen this in a long time; I'm glad its back in circulation.
