Could be financial problems or simple greed.At least at the moment IFC states before nearly every show that shows "are not edited for content and time"..let's see how long that will last.
My godfather had cable well before me right? Years ago he loaned me a tape of movies he recorded from TNT & TBS,there were NO ads!
I remember when AMC started with ads,really ruined a good channel.I pray to the cable/sat gods that TCM won't do the same.
