After the success of "Dancing in the Streets", Barry Gordy decided to give the next song to the Supremes and they went on to have a long string of #1 hits.
She said the Funk Brothers were the real key to the success of Motown's music and they were well paid for their work.
In those days Motown was quite a mill, open 24 hours a day with a group of full-time songwriters, full-time the house band - the Funk Brothers - and a bunch of singing groups who fronted the music.
