The excellent Dario Grandinetti (Talk to Her) is Ramon the jilted husband of Laura the psychologist (Goya Toledo) whose main purpose in life is forgetting about him.
Filled with outrage, not immediately detectable, Ramon sets about on a winding path of revenge that begins with the abduction of his ex to his custom basement beset with stainless steel and a beautiful blood red floor. Let the games begin with the clever twists and turns of the plot from abduction, to apprehension, confession, and resolution.
Grandinetti is most excellent as the brilliant and eloquent professor who uses four years to spring his payback while Toledo foils him as the wife who wants no more. The art direction is superb with its choice of stark scenery and dominant colors through out. This is an actor's film with all the pieces in place thanks to excellent direction and cinematography.
Worthy of reading subtitles while cocooning during the nippy seasons.
