The life of one family, at the turn of the century, narrated by one of the daughters. The mother is the main subject - and the increasingly abusive drunkard husband. The times are tough, but the mother finds her salvation in a unusual hobby. The movie experience is as good as reading the well written memoir.

- A very good, quiet film from a master director. His "Emigrants" is a classic. nt - tinear 14:59:24 10/15/11 (0)
