Jeff Goldblum used a MAC in the movie. The Windows idea is so funny -- yea, right. We knock out their system with OUR computer virus.
I do not necessarily buy into this movie tie-in, however
9/11/01 was the 11 year anniversary of GHW Bush declaring a New World Order. check the backs of your dollar bills Americans.

Also, the original screenplay had many mentions of Area 51. The military would not cooperate with the filmmakers until they took out all mentions of the words "Area 51".
