... grouped in an area called "the block" - strangely across the street from the Baltimore City Police headquarters.

It was still "greasy" through the 90's, but today the city in trying to clean up its image, (right!), and has moved to become more "family" oriented.

I love when films accurately capture some memory of the American experience, as was achieved in "The Killing of a Chinese Bookie" - director's cut.

I feel that the Director's Cut added cabaret scenes so full of desperate pathos as to elevate a great film, to art.
