I have a 100" or 120" (not sure, but it is pretty large) screen in one of my rooms, with an HD projector, which we have not used in years. When I tried to turn it on, the projector refused, so I figured either it didn't want to play that movie, or it simply died. The HD picture on it was quite good, but I only had cable as source - it died before Blue Ray became a commodity.

In the room where we watch films we still have the VERY old 50" plasma - it must be eight year old by now, if not more. We got it when they cost as much as cars, and it gave us many years of good service. It seems to be fading slightly now, but its HD picture is still very nice when fed good signal - of course the only program we ever watch in HD is Fox News, but their blonds look stunning on that screen.

Of course, being this old, it has no HDMI, only component video inputs.

What can I say? We were early adopters... we started watching HD when it was only available over the air, and you had to rotate the additional antenna to get a couple of stations. But since then the initial HD excitement has subsided, and I suspect we will not buy anything new until our plasma dies. By then it will likely be something like Black Ray and I will instantly leave you in the dust.

But first we need to get this economy in order... :(
