As both were the product of that system.
Like it or not, the system was indeed very productive and effective in that regard. Spassky was by far not the best product. In addition one might note that while it took Fischer quite an effort to beat Spassky, Karpov was able to do it in a spectacular fashion.
Again... you have not demonstrated any impact outside the chess.
