Just saw David Lynch's "Mulholland Drive"...

I don't care what the critics say, it is not his best film, or, a very good film at all(and I love his work). Lynch tends to roll out references to all his past weird cliche's with a tongue-in-cheek style for all of us film geeks, but at the base of it all, there really isn't much of a storyline. And there is some pretty bad acting acting sprinkled throughout in a John Waters "isn't this hip" kind of way.

The film is also poorly edited in rough, jerky, way. It seems to me like quite a bit was left on the cutting room floor, which leaves it slightly confusing. Hours after you've left the film, it is possible to connect the dots, but it's more of an annoyance having to do so unlike "Memento" which was a welcomed challenged. Part of this is a result of certain storylines which are left hanging as the film moves on.

Most of all, the fil is waaay too long.
