What happens when a couple living in the Norwegian countryside rent to new city-folk neighbors? Lots of issues and comedy. Kaja and Eirik welcome the far more urbane Sigve and Elisabeth to their house next door. Kaja, dying for some decent company, goes out of her way to make them instant best friends. This leads to some strange bedfellows and awkwardly confused kids.
The Scandos do such wonderful things with personal relationships and this film is a mix of light drama and comedy with lessons for all. Unfortunately, not all ends well as one couple parts and the other becomes stronger and we come away entertained and bit wiser ourselves.
Netflix streamer.
