This is a mystery film about war, and a war movie about a family.
From http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/incendiesbluray.php:
"In Canada, twins Jeanne... and Simon Marwan...are dealing with their mother's death. Meeting with her employer, .... who is also executing her will, the twins receive posthumous instructions from their mother to travel to her (fictional) home country in the Middle East and find their father and brother. The problem is that they believe their father to be dead and that no one they know has seen their brother since moments after he was born and whisked away to an orphanage. The quest will lead them through a heretofore hidden biography of their enigmatic mother, Nawal (Lubna Azabal, Paradise Now), and will radically reconstruct their senses of self and family."
This movie comes in a package containing BluRay and DVD versions of this film. The film is in French, occasionally in English, and also in a Middle Eastern language I don't speak and won't try to identify. Comes with subtitles in English. I highly recommend this movie. Nominated for the best foreign language Oscar, 2011; won a ton of other awards.

- Nice little film, but WAY too contrived and illogical a premise. Other than that.... nt - tinear 17:37:01 02/26/12 (1)
- It was about emotions and character building not plot. * - mr grits 15:28:27 02/27/12 (0)
