Proposed solution: I have culled, after several months of ongoing work, lists of the best foreign films of the past years. Since it is reported Netflix uses the amount of "Saved" choices to determine its purchases of DVDs, I'd like to propose I post my list for your inclusion in your Netflix listings. I have been non-discriminating in my choices (as are most respected critics); lots of countries and genres and styles are represented from super-artsy to glitzy professional.
Anyhow, if there is any interest, I'll cut-and-paste my list right here.
I culled it from "best of" end-of-year film magazines, articles, and interviews.
Yes, I know, critics aren't perfect. But I only included films that showed up on several lists. What better system is there, relying on Netflix patrons "stars?" I don't think so.
Anyhow, I await your responses.
