I think this is Almodovar's best yet. The complexity of the story is handled beautifully and the choice of (the always beautiful) Elena Anaya to play opposite of Banderas was perfect. This film had a lot of Spanish film royalty doing their best and the cinematography and art direction were knock out.
I hesitate to say anymore as to explain the plot would be lengthy and mostly unravel the experience of the story. Let's just say it's a Freudian nightmare of revenge by the hands of a grief stricken surgeon going slowly crazy.
Must see.
