Opens up with a very Tarrish scene, dark, hard to discern, somewhat quizzical until the camera pulls back slowly and still leaves you guessing.
How much trouble can a seemingly honest Russian truck driver encounter on his regular run? More than one could believe: crooked cops, a man with a dark story, a young prostitute who wants to earn her money, village people from hell...it goes on at a seemingly timeless pace. The story becomes more rolling horror with each successive frame.
Films like this are usually based on some facet of reality. Enough so to cancel my Visa request to the motherland.
