Home Films/DVD Asylum

Movies from comedy to drama to your favorite Hollyweird Star.

Definitely an ensemble cast, verbal slapstick Ok(if that makes any sense, a la Arrested Development) and not

physical. It would be on HBO or similar so there could be, if the situation presented itself, cussing. Characters would be smart, sometimes too smart for their own good living in oblivious ignorance of their obvious (to the audience) negative character traits. No audience.

Romantic sublpot? tough one. The Office pulled that off brilliantly and believably. Not sure it could be done again tho, at least to that level so I'd say no, altho romantic relationships, on not quite so deep and serious level should be included. Predominantly workplace environment? Yes.

Dark comedy seems to work best in movies, no? I loves me some Joel and Ethan Coen dark comedy but I think that would be hard to sustain week in and week out in a TV comedy. When thinking of some current favorites, Web Therapy, Curb..., Parks and Recreation, The Office, I don't think of either dark or bright and chirpy.

It would have Arrested Development's writers working in tandem with Ricky Gervais with Lisa Kudrow providing additional creative input.
