Annika Hallin is a married doctor who loses her son and is consumed with grief. So consumed she leaves her husband of many years in order to run away, forget, and start all over. She takes up residency in a small Swedish farming community and is soon confronted by a tragic death that the police see as a murder. Into the mix is the town's snowplow driver who recently became her lover. The victim was a young refugee Muslim and his parents are frantic to get his body back. Complications arise and Hallin struggles with her emotions to do the right things.
So well done this is worth a see. The Scandos can take ordinary things and situations in life and make it compelling and sometimes gripping. The study of Hallin's character dealing with grief and guilt are classic.
