Hated the movie. The vapid, useless ending brought nothing to the table. I do see though, that as a novel, this could have been good. But as a movie? All pointless. Each death has no meaning. And finally, the hero's death only angers the viewer. What worth is it? What's the difference than if they all died in the initial crash? You just sit there and watch men being slowly tortured and die one by on with no hope. When the last one dies, I was angered. It was all hopeless. No meaning. With the novel I imagine you hear the musings of the hero in depth and find some growth in him, but the move showed very little of this and I felt he was only changed minorly(sp?), not nearly enough for the useless death.
We'll have to agree to disagree about global warming until the next global cooling scare comes along
