'Orange Is The New Black' - - Do Whaaaa, NO Pam Greer!

Taylor Schilling (Atlas Shrugged) plays Piper the happy, up and coming yuppie who is about to be married to a nice Jewish Boy (Jason Biggs). But, out of nowhere she is charged with mule-ing $50K in drug money for her then lesbian lover Laura Prepon (That 70's Show redhead)ten years past. (Limitations due to run out at 12 years).

Piper must now say goodbye to all her friends and join the party at an upstate New York womens' detention center. This is what the fun is all about. Shiny, yuppie Piper getting into the system and getting ground down to reality all in a 15 month sentence. The 13 Netflix episodes are filled with humor, drama, and everything in between. It is not for the socially polite unless no one else is around. Lesbianism seems to be the order of the day--you either participate or fight it.

Orange use a veritable wealth of acting talent never seen nor barely recognized before. The cast is astounding and Kate Mulgrew (shocking in her old age) is one of the king pins of each episode. Each prime inmate has her backstory shown to illuminate how they got there and what's on their mind.

The pic at the top is Crazy Eyes expressing her love for Pipes who just can't seem to escape her. Uzo Aduba nails crazy like never before, scary.

Once you get past three episodes you feel compelled to keep watching this rag-tag collection or blacks, browns, rednecks, Ruskie, and Asian until it ends. Fortunately for me, NF has ordered season two.
