This was an interesting but not necessarily compelling film about one of the world's more quizzical figures: Julian Assange. Cumberbatch portrayed him as a self-involved man with a mission and questionable motives. The script over-looked his sexual escapades but emphasized his destructively cavalier attitude towards protecting sources and those named in all the information he published.

I can't really say I "enjoyed" this film as it was meant to be a very serious look at Assange and did nothing to "warm him up". Despite having a very able cast including Linney and Tucci as beleaguered State Department officials and Daniel Bruhl as the "number two man" the film has a very antiseptic feel so as to remain a step back from the viewer. At the end of the day, this film perpetuates Assange as a very polarizing fixture of our time.

Waiting for the DVD might be best.
