Started out a bit slow--even the music sucked for the first 5 episodes. So many great artists to draw from in '68. Don seemed to be in a downward spiral all season, while the other characters (except Peter) seemed on the way up. The last couple of episodes of season 6, where Don had to reap what he sowed, were very strong though depressing. As always, the writers are able to do justice to the power and gravity of the times and show how each character is impacted in everything from fashion and sexuality to world views and domestic realities.
