take a true-life human interest story, supercharge it with wry humor, drama, and sentiment all to good effect. Coogan was super with his wry moments and Densch a "dear" with her passion to find her lost son.
Densch's character had the misfortune of being an Irish teenager who became pregnant and was given over to a nun's abbey to have the child and work off her expenses by remaining there four years. The abbey was actually selling off the desirable children to Americans who could afford the fee. The story is their travel to America to find her missing boy not seen in 50 years only to be brought back to Ireland in the end.
Enjoyable and touching. My hair had turned blue by closing credits.
