This is such a Debbie Downer that I found it hard to sit through. Sure, the acting was great with the cast exuding strong character and grit but it was Harrelson and Affleck who burned up the scenery with their menace and intensity.
I can only describe the film as brutal to the point of distraction. Not that the violence is in every scene but that its intensity is disturbing. This is a sad tale of a steel town's sons and rabid Jersey hillbilly's you could probably live without. Not for innocent eyes.
