A man soloing in a smallish sailboat (I'd guess under 40-ft.) gets rammed by a rogue ship container, with disastrous results.
Can't say much more except that it's a fascinating character study, a modern, "Old Man and the Sea."
Redford is 77 and looks it; however, he's remarkably agile and must have had lots of days of recuperation in between some of those scenes: not an FX in sight.
May as well give the Oscar to him, now. He's earned it.
