Bradley Cooper, Dennis Quaid, and Jeremy Irons are cast as writers. This is a great story -- and unusual -- about one unknown writer's sudden success and another's obscurity; both involving the same book. Its a story within a story, several layers deep. It came out in 2012, but I just picked it up on Showtime.
Haven't seen Jeremy Irons in much, so whenever I do, I'm always struck by how great of an actor he is. Cooper usually does lighter fare, but I think he's good in this sober role. Quaid's role is also as a writer, but you'll have to figure him out on your own.
The tragic stories are in nested form. Therer are mysteries and messages involved. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a low rating, but I think most folks will get fairly deep into the characters and their separate stories. Irons' performance is so good you'll get into this one and be thinking about it long after its over.
