Okay, I don't like Costner but I am attracted to cloak and dagger fun. It starts in Belgrade where bad guys grow on trees then moves to Paris where worn-out CIA operative Costner is finally cut loose because of his cancer. Costner makes contact with his ex-wife (Nielsen) and his teen daughter (Steinfeld) to make up for lost time and to say goodbyes.
Because Costner may be the only CIA type to recognize the Wolf he is pressed into service by Amber Heard who is buried under nine inches of makeup. The acting is nothing, the story is punctuated with some parental humor, and dollops of European color are thrown in to make it interesting. Unfortunately, I don't know whether to call this a spy flick or family film. The story seemed equally split between bloody upheaval and marriage and family class. This thing seems like it's three hours long and I began to feel my life ooze out of my duck shoes before the climax.
Better schedule a quadruple root canal than buy a ticket for this one.
