'Tied': Abstract and moody to the max . . .

A prominent French banker (BenoƮt Poelvoorde) takes a mistress (Laetitia Casta) who becomes his dominatrix. Their relationship seems untenable especially since she has a husband (Richard Bohringer) and confused feelings for both. This is a very, very abstract film filled with beautiful interiors, moody lighting, and architectural exteriors. As true to abstraction, we never know any character's name, their histories, or desires beyond the momentary. Being mostly a visual treat it lasts but a mere 79 minutes.

The acting falls mostly on Poelvoorde who expresses himself more than any other character. Casta is subdued and Bohringer's presence seems hardly required except to pace and fret.

If you like films for the way the "look" this will do it. Otherwise it is a very tame, near snoozy look at the rich and sleazy. (Netflix streamer.)

Alas, Casta is the one who keeps her clothes on.
