plays a criminal released after 12 years in prison and who's expected, by his former crime boss, to burnish the gang's reputation by slaying the responsible snitch.
After awhile, though, he develops a "Hamlet" problem, "to kill or not to kill."
This is WAY above the average crime film, easily taking a place among the better noir films, though the cinematography isn't dark. There is a lot of humor in the film, but behind all the smiles and laughs, the specter of brutality and revenge waits in the shadows.
Skarsgard is a marvel.
