...since Billy Wonka is MIA, someone had to see this and post a review.
Last summer 21 Jump Street was a surprisingly funny film with Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum playing two inept cops who go undercover in a high school to find a drug dealer, a take-off on the 1980s TV show which gave Johnny Depp his start.
Tatum's comic chops were especially surprising.
This summer 22 Jump Street reprises the plot which is essentially the same but this time the older guys try to pass as college students tracking down a drug dealer.
To make it even more funny there are a number of jokes about the first film, other films they've been in and how sequels usually suck. This is even more of a bromance than the first film and this aspect gets a lot of play. The only line missing was "it's me, not you."
Again this was surprisingly funny and one of the better comedies so far this summer. Especially the bit through the credits.
Recommended.
