This bizarre and twisted film is like third rate Ritchie. Despite McAvoy and the assembled cast performances couldn't save a script directed and edited to be as "cool" as the maestro's. McAvoy played a crooked cop who was trying to boost his career by stabbing his team in the back. He had lost his wife and child due to all his addictions and pursued solving the case at hand thinking it would bring them all back together when he received his promotion.

Big name cast, lots of dark, dark humor and ridiculous frat house behavior all made this film a real romp in a less than understandable way. The fantasy scenes were barely tethered to reality and McAvoy becomes almost totally unhinged as the film nears its end.

Unfortunately, this film was made for the home crowd as I almost had to turn on the subtitles. That Scottish accent spoken quickly is code talker stuff. The opening segment is really funny when McAvoy walks through the street explaining Scotland.
