Kathleen Turner's character in Body Heat. Her plan was meticulously laid out and executed up until the point the skeezes robbered her. I think she weighed her options once young master Affleck made his plea on TV. She was out of cash, staying with a control freak for whom she had zero feelings, and took what she figured was the best way out to at least get some resemblance of a normal life back.
I won't argue with plot inconsistencies, there were some, especially the one line of dialogue utter3ed by Kim Dickens' partner which swept away the blatant inconsistencies in her story that the film record at Harris' house would have shown, i.e.,. The movie, taken as a whole, worked well for me. I did chuckle at her blood covered return to Dunne Manor. In the near future we'll all be singing the praises of Rosamund Pike.
