There is no equal biography in film, no portrayal deeper or more nuanced than that of Kane. It is hard to fathom a genius so developed at 25, one that shows such consummate skill in writing, directing, and acting, but such a wunderkind was Orson Welles.
What elevates the characterization so much, of course, is its insight into the human condition. Every actor, from Joseph Cotton to Dorothy Comingore (to be arrested sometime later for prostitution after being blacklisted because of refusing to testify before Congress in the commie witch hunt) to Ray Collins is perfectly cast and acted.
