CC is a mysterious love story about two people that meet at an art gathering. Over the course of their visit to a small Italian town notable for its art and architecture, a mysterious story about them slowly unfolds. Brilliant, mature examination of parenting, marriage, and love--- if you like Bergman, this will be your cup of ice and snow.
"The Report:" a young man with a young family faces a mounting number of problems both at home and at the office and, though not any particular one is overwhelming, the total effect--- and his increasing unease and discomfort--- threatens to explode and consume his world.
This is the singularly most upsetting film I can recall: the rising tension is masterfully built--- I actually thought of fast-forwarding through several scenes such was the unrelenting buildup of pressure.
Rest assured my friends, in Muslim countries, people face the same problems as we: financial, marital, work-related.
This is very different from his later films; in fact, Kiarostami mirrors Bela Tarr's progression: his earlier films also were about volcanic family situations.
Neither one of these films makes for an easy watch, but both are milestones of modern film.
