Lots of seedy characters who speak almost poetically, lots of dark humour(sp for brit), good acting, suspenseful, and the body count is about on a par with Breaking Bad. The main character not as conflicted as Walter, but some of the bad guys, at times, do some pretty good things, so there's some internal conflict vis a vis the bad guys. Similar to Breaking Bad, it didn't lose its momentum after the first season and in fact got better for at least the nest 3.
