Denzel's EQ is a solitary man of few words with a fetish from precision to a fault of almost being effete. But, that is in his quiet "ritualistic" moments. When he springs into action he has more cunning and power than Lucifer himself. Don't believe me? Go see for yourself. The main target that begs for "equalizing" is a Russian mafia setup that runs everything imaginable including Moretz who is a very young prostitute with a knack for getting pimp-slapped into hamburger. The Terminator, er, Equalizer interjects his talents into her life and takes on the oligarch of sin by doing "nuclear" damage then appearing in Russia for the great retribution.
Now, suspension of disbelief is an absolute mandate. If you aren't in the mood to let go then wait. Unless the EQ was Lucifer in human drag it is hard to swallow the things he does. Not in a fantastic CGI way but by means of human interaction.
Great production quality and story but basically an action movie not a "film". I noticed the viewers of IMDb gave it a much higher rating than Tomaters. This one is not for the critics but for those with a touch of blood lust and women who need a Denxel Fix.
