A relatively simple movie, slightly darkish with some creative twists, yet excellent in direction by Michael Roskam and first rate acting. I saw both this moving and Gone Girl last weekend and The Drop is far, far better. If you thought Gone Girl was unrealistic, slow and a rather numb ending, then The Drop is just the opposite. Enjoyable with a glowing tension throughout - and interesting ending that will have you walking out of the theater thinking it was money well spent. Just the opposite of Gone Girl.
