Yep, it's a Liam Neeson action-thriller that kind of looks like all his other action-thrillers. Liam has that one-note Irish Bad Boy thing down that gets him in so much trouble after frame 12 in all his flicks. This time he is a retired killer (The Grave Digger) and alcoholic that does light work for his ex-boss, Ed Harris. One unfortunate night, Neeson's son, Kinnaman, gets accidentally involved in some nasty business with Harris' son, Danny. Liam takes Danny out in order to save Mike's life. When Harris hears of his Danny being killed by Liam circumstances are out the window and an eye-for-an-eye kicks in like a mule to get this film going.
Plenty of action for the shoot'um up crowd. But, no matter how different it may be Neeson is in the middle of it and it looks like his last movie. I'm thinking he needs a change of pace: Otello.
Sure, a lot of you will hunch your shoulders and buy a ticket anyway and that's okay. I could be raining or something and it beats being at the house.
